Compare: Silverado 2500 vs 3500
The Differences Between the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD | Muncy, PA
The Chevrolet Silverado HD is an excellent choice if you are looking for a truck that can get a lot of work done for a very long time. But you have two major options to consider you can narrow down things like color, trim, and cab size: the 2500 HD and 3500 HD. Not sure which would work best for you? Let’s take a look at some of the key differences between these heavy-duty powerhouses.
Towing power
Both the 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD and Silverado 3500 HD are excellent choices for towing, offering up to 20,000 pounds of conventional diesel towing depending on configuration. If you need more power than that, both are available with fifth-wheel/gooseneck towing, which tops out at 22,500 pounds for the 2500 HD[1] and 36,000 pounds for the 3500 HD.[2]
Payload capacity
The new Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD can haul a lot of payload, topping out at 4,025 pounds. The 3500 HD improves that figure considerably, maxing out at 7,337 pounds. Either way, the Silverado HD lets you take full advantage of the Durabed, the most spacious truck bed of any heavy-duty truck today.
Configuration options
The 2025 Silverado 2500 HD is available with five cab and box combinations: Regular Cab, Long Bed; Double Cab, Standard Bed; Double Cab, Long Bed; Crew Cab, Standard Bed; and Crew Cab, Long Bed. While the 3500 is not available with a Double Cab, Standard Bed configuration, its Crew Cab models are available with a dual-rear-wheel setup that improves traction and stability while towing. No matter the configuration, the 3500 HD also offers more than an inch of extra ground clearance and total height[3]
The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD is a can’t-miss if you want a large truck for big jobs. If you’d like the opportunity to compare options up close and personal, visit Blaise Alexander Chevrolet of Muncy for a demo of what these trucks can do.
